Curvy Fusca Maya, mental ray, Photoshop September 2007
First I made a hand drawn of the side view of the original WW Beetle, then I re-designed in a cartoonish style, making it curvier and round. It was modeled using Maya 2008 with Polygons, taking advantage of the proxy mesh feature, instead of the old Sub-D.
I used the Mental Ray car paint shade, the rest are default blinns with HDR reflections and hand painted textures from photoshop. You can also check my hand drawn concept on my website.
